Potty Training
We've been familiarising Nicholas with potty training ever since our Christmas holiday to South Africa. We took the gradual approach which is not necessarily the best approach but it was the best option for us. About a month ago we decided that it was time to take it seriously. So far it's going well, we still have accidents, but we're making good progress. Nappies are for night time only now so I guess we've reached a major milestone.

Daniel's hair
Daniel was also born with a mop of black hair although not has thick and not as long. The big difference is that it's falling out. It leaves me wondering what he will look like a couple of years down the line.

Funny story: The other day Nicholas said "Mommy, Danny is a parrot" so I asked why expecting him to say something about squawking but he replied "Because he has feathers on his head"!
Nicholas' hair
Most people would agree that Nicholas has awesome hair. He started life off with a mop of black hair which never fell out and miraculously turned into beautiful blonde locks.
At 21 months he had his first real hair cut, unfortunately the curls disappeared, but thankfully it stayed blonde.

In December Uncle Deano got hold of him with the clippers. I wanted to cry but I loved the end result and soon got used to his new look.

Six months down the line Gogo gave his hair a trim. It's really nice but it won't last nearly as long.

Goodbye Gogo
Sadly my mom's five week visit came to an end on Monday. Thanks for coming, Gogo, it was awesome having you here with us. I really appreciate your help with absolutely everything, it was great having your company and your kindness and wisdom won't easily be forgotten. We all miss you terribly and wish you could have stayed for longer!

Local is lekker
We took advantage of the brief moments of sunshine that interrupted the rain this weekend. On Saturday we went for a stroll in the beautiful Kew Gardens. Nicholas loved it - even though they wouldn't allow him to ride his scooter - especially Climbers and Creepers and the Tree Top Walk.

And on sunday we went for a walk in Putney Heath followed by delicious pub lunch at the Telegraph Inn. Nicholas thought he was in heaven when he got ice cream and cheese for dessert.

Daniel's sixth week
Daniel is in an adorable stage at the moment. He is in a calm and happy mood more often now and it is easy to make him smile and laugh and coo and gurgle. It's enough to make hearts melt.

Even Nicholas finds Daniel irresistable. It is very cute to see how proud his big brother is of him. In these photos Nicholas is investigating Daniel's small facial features and is fascinated by the fact that he hasn't got any teeth.

Bit of tourism
We did a bit of tourism out west this weekend. We all had loads of fun even though the weather was terrible. Our boys were perfect travel partners and behaved impeccably.
Our first stop was the cathedral city of Winchester.

Then we had a pitstop at Stonehenge.
Bath, a unique and stunning historic city, was our main destination.
