Happy Halloween!

We had an awesome Halloween party at the Jackson's haunted house. Claire went to a great effort as usual and the kids had a ball. Nicholas also had fun scaring away all the scary creatures that came to our door trick-or-treating, after giving them some treats, of course. Only problem is that all this scary stuff resulted in some nightmares.

Nicholas - Month 35

Another month has flown by and the countdown to Nicholas' birthday has begun. I can't believe that he is nearly 3 years old. I know that I have said it many times before but he is at a really great stage at the moment. I love my gorgeous boy to bits!
As you know Jackson came to visit Nicholas a few weeks ago. It was great watching them having so much fun together. Here is one of their serious moments. I can't help but wonder what they are discussing and/or planning.
One day when we were on our way to see the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum Nicholas split his lip open when the bus stopped suddenly. He was a very brave boy as we rushed to A&E. Thankfully the cut did not go all the way through so it could simply be glued. It has healed really quickly and hopefully the scar will disappear over time.Nicholas' nursery, Peques, had their annual concert. Nicholas and his classmates sang a Spanish song about a horse as they flaunted cowboy hats and galloped around on the horses that they made. It was very cute indeed.
Over the summer nap times beame a real struggle and eventually I realised that Nicholas was probably ready to drop his afternoon nap. He still asks to have a 'snooze' every now and then and sometimes he still falls asleep in the car but generally he doesn't nap anymore. It's been replaced by an hour of quiet reading time in his room and afterwards we have some time to do something special together while Daniel sleeps so our new routine is working well for both of us. Sometimes after a hectic day he can't make it all the way to bed time though like this day when he fell asleep during supper.I am pleased to announce that we have succeeded with potty training. Accidents are few and far between and nappies are a thing of the past even at night too. Touch wood.
The other day I was very pleased when Nicholas asked if he could have four apricots as I usually have to encourage him to snack on them with stories like they'll make him strong so that he can fight the dragon. Then he told me that only one was for him and the rest were for his three headed dragon because it also had to get strong so that it could fight the knights. On the topic of dragons, Nicholas and Phillipa still love slaying the dragon whenever we go to the forest so we got them the cutest swords and shields at Legoland. Not sure who taught them to 'push and stab' and the actions that go with it but it always puts a smile on the face of everyone who passes by.The clocks have changed and the nights are drawing in but along with it comes a spectacle of colour. Nicholas is loving all the leaves and the fun activities that we are doing with them. Autumn is actually a wonderful season.

RRROOOAAARRR!!!

Just before Rebecca and Jackson left I was trying to get a shot of Nicholas and Jackson lik this one (taken 07/03/2008 when they were 16 months):
But instead I got this pretty scary video of them doing their dinosaur impersonation (it'll give you an idea what we had to listen to for a large portion of their holiday with us):

Daniel Week 17

Another week has flown by. We've all been a bit sick lately - although it does not look like it in the photos - nothing too serious just change of season colds. So we've just been taking it slow and easy at home.
