Everyone has been asking me what I do with my days now that both my boys are at school. I must admit that it's great having some time to myself for a change. Amazingly I'm always busy and never seem to have much idle time though. I love that I am able to be there for every school event and sports fixture and that I can stick my hand up when ever they need parent volunteers. I'm the rep for Nicholas' class and I'm supporting the rep for Danny's class which involves quite a bit of work. I am also a volunteer for reading in pre-prep which involves going to the school twice per week to listen to boys read. On Fridays I do a parent course in the mornings at The Parent Practice. While most of the content is pretty obvious, I am finding it really enjoyable as it makes me think about things in different ways, and offers some good tips and nice ideas. One of the spin-offs is that I am trying to use the time when the boys are away to be more organised so that I can be totally focussed on them when they are with me. One of my goals is to slow down and rush less so we can be more relaxed and enjoy life more. Having said that, just look what we need on Mondays, luckily the rest of the week isn't half as busy. For the first time in years I have time to browse in shops on my own and to meet up with friends for a coffee or lunch which is something I rarely did before. I have time to make plans, send emails, surf the web and read interesting blogs. I also have a long list of things that I've put on the back burner that I intend to tackle one step at a time and one of those things is to catch up on my photos and my blogging. So I can happily confirm that I am definitely not bored!
