Play School

The same ladies that run Forest School also run a play group for pre-schoolers. I thought I would go and check it out since Daniel doesn't go to nursery. I must say I was pleasantly surprised and now we are hooked. Since the beginning of November that's what we do one morning per week. Daniel takes it all very seriously and proudly declares to anyone that is interested that he is off to HIS 'play school'. It's close to our house so we scoot there which in itself is fun for both of us!

It's a lovely setup with an outdoor area, a snack area, a quiet room and another room of total chaos. Every week there's a different theme and there are 3 or 4 stations where the kids can paint, glue and create different things. They also have the usual home corner, sand pit, water play, reading corner etc. And sometimes they even do baking/cooking activities. It is absolutely perfect for us because it is a nursery setting where I can also be involved. Danny recognises a lot of the people which an added bonus!

This opportunity presented itself at just the right time as Daniel is having difficulty with the fact that he can't stay at school with Nicholas. Some days it is quite embarrassing when I have to drag him away kicking and screaming. Now that he is getting used to the routine, and since he has his own book bag to carry around, it is getting a bit easier!
