Lazy days are the best

Sometimes we do have lazy days with nothing planned.  One such Saturday we bumped into Dave, Tamsin and Gigi at the duck pond in Barnes.  We grabbed some snacks and drinks from the farmers market and had a picnic together.  The boys had a ball 'taking care' of Gigi!

Lovely Gigi

Later that day Danny insisted that it was a nice day for a braai, and it was, so we let him do the braai on 'his' weber (as he calls our small camping weber). Nicholas just sat by quietly and demolished a book. I love lazy days that are filled with spontaneity!

Frogs' Legs

I love spending lovely lazy weekends at home especially now that the weather has improved. Last weekend was one of those. On Saturday we invited some friends over for a braai. Just about everyone has children now so it is not only a social opportunity for us but a playdate for the kids. Our guests were not that keen on the frogs' legs we had for a starter but the boys loved the gimmick!

Rugby and braai

According to the boys in the house, rugby and a braai make a perfect Saturday, especially if the sun is shining. It was great fun watching Nicholas in action at Rugbytots. Usually it's a dad and son bonding session but since it was the last class of the term Danny and I went to watch. I must say I was very impressed. Nick has also started showing an interest in watching the sports channel with dad especially if it is rugby. He is always full of questions, but then again that isn't unusual!

Sunday Braai

Last sunday we spent a lovely afternoon at JP&Erica's house ... sunshine, football and braai ... what more could you want ... maybe a win for England but then again maybe not. The kids had a ball eating ice cream, sliding into the splashpool, riding the donkey and just playing together in the garden.
