Wimbledon

... last week this time ...

We thought we were going to miss out on Wimbledon this year but last Thursday the sun finally shone so we took a chance and went to watch some tennis. Our friends from Belgium (Amanda and Jan along with their kids Wolf, Max and Mary-Grace) were visiting so it turned into a perfect outing for all of us. From 5pm the price is reduced dramatically and miraculously there wasn't even a queue so we just breezed straight in. Because it was late in the day and late in the tournament there wasn't too much on the go but we got to see some juniors and some doubles, and most importantly, soak up some of the lovely atmosphere. We stayed until closing at 9pm and enjoyed a picnic of pizza and strawberries on Henman Hill while watching The Williams sisters on the big screen. I'll definitely make sure we go next year again!
